The MaLBiM- “Now That We Are So Close to Moshiach
“Now that we are so close, to our destination”
A parable was given by the revered MaLBiM,
(Reb Meir Leibush ben Yechiel Michel 1809-1879), zs'kl;),
when he was asked by his students, when will the Geula arrive.
_____________
When he was a little child, his father used to travel to faraway cities to sell his goods. Little Meir Leibush begged his father numerous times, to permit him to accompany his business trips, but his father constantly refused; until one day his father agreed.
It was a very exciting day for little Meir Leibush, As soon as they boarded the horse and buggy, little Meir Leibush asked his father, "Father, when are going to arrive?" but his father ignored his son's question.
Approximately 10 days later, he heard his father asking the driver, when they are going to arrive at their destination. When little Meir Leibush heard his father's question, he asked him, "How come when I asked you this question you chose to ignore me; and now, you asked the driver the same question ?
"His father answered, "Silly boy. You knew that we will be traveling for a while and asking when will we arrive on the first day, was irrelevant. But now that we are so close to our destination, the question is relevant and necessary."
______________
The parable is similar to our circumstances. As we draw nearer to our ultimate destination, HaShem is informing us through His loyal messengers, that NOW is the time for the redemption.
