Excerpts of talks by the Lubavitcher Rebbe

We have already satisfied the requirements of "Chevlei Moshiach".

When we see great revolutions in our times, this is an additional sign, that we are now in the final moments of the "footsteps of Moshiach;" and imminently and immediately, our righteous Moshiach will come.

It is understood, that now we are already in a state, where the physical body, and even the physicality of the world, is already completely refined and purified.

They are ready to be a "vessel" for all the supernal lights and spiritual matters; including and primarily--the light of Moshiach Tzidkeinu, the light of the true and complete Geulah....
When a small girl lights Shabbos candles, this gives the power to the one who fights the wars of Hashem [ie, Moshiach], that he will be victorious."
We have already completed and finished all the avodah, and we are standing ready for the acceptance, of Dovid Malka Meshicha.
The Metzius [reality] of Moshiach exists also b'pashtus, [simply and really.]
All matters of Avodah have been finished and completed, and we are standing ready for the acceptance of Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
Thus in our days, all the obstructions and interferences have been nullified.

And because of this, there is (not only the metzius of Moshiach, but rather) also the Hisgalus [revelation] of Moshiach. And now we need only to accept Moshiach Tzidkeinu, in actuality.

Although these particular elements of service must also be completed, this does not detract from the service of the Jewish people as a whole.

On the contrary, the fact that as a whole, we are prepared for the Redemption, makes it easier for us to complete all the individual elements of our service, and to do so with happiness.

To explain the concept in an analogy: When a person is healthy as a whole; if he has a small ailment in one of his limbs, it can easily be cured.

Similarly, since as a whole, our service has been completed, Teshuvah, which is described as "healing", can cure all the particular difficulties of the Jewish people.
The spiritual Beis Hamikdash must be built through our efforts, through Teshuva, Torah, and Mitzvos. Every spiritual "brick" that a Jew forms, is indestructible.

The process of laying these spiritual "bricks" came about, at the same moment, that the last part of the 2nd Bais Hamikdash went up in flames.

This is one of the deeper meanings of the story in the midrash (Eicha Rabba), that at the moment the Bais Hamikdash was destroyed, Moshiach was born.

The main parts of rebuilding the spiritual Bais Hamikdash, which Jews need to build in this long, dark Golus (exile); were already built, by the earlier generations of spiritual giants, of our people.

What remains for us, is only to complete a small part. But our part must be permeated with the same Kedusha, as that of the earlier generations.
The ultimate redemption is unique, for when it comes, it will come in a complete and total manner.

In this, we see a contrast to the other redemptions from exile.
The previous redemptions came in stages, while the future redemption, will be immediate and total.
From the fact that it says "all flesh will see (G-d)", it is understood, that the intent is not only Yisroel, but that it includes all the nations of the world (see Tanya ch. 36)
The fact that there are those who assert, that the generation is not worthy for the redemption, etc., is itself a proof, that now is the time of the revelation of Moshiach.

Being, that the sages state, that Moshiach comes "B'Hesech Hada'as" -- when we are found in a state like this, that neither Da'as, nor the revealed intellect, sees any possibility for the coming of the Geulah.

This is "Hesech Ha'Da'as", which is a sure sign, that the Geulah is very close.
The inner aspect of Golus, is the revelation of a new light. And as a result of drawing closer to it, there is a distancing from the Hashpa'a (flow) of the Divine revelation.

Therefore, the closer we get to Moshiach, the more oppressive Golus becomes.
In the Midrashim of Chazal we find that, Moshiach Tzidkeinu (Eliyahu Hanovi) will be revealed first in the Galil, specificially in Teveria... But no one will be makpid if Eliyahu Hanovi were to come in chutz la'aretz, even in Brooklyn; and the next day Moshiach will come to Teveria.
